4/20/16 CHALK SOUND, LONG BAY BEACH, PELICAN/LEEWARD BEACH, POOL, MAGNOLIA

4/20/16  Our last full day-2 weeks flew by.  Breakfast-Last of the bacon, rest of the almond croissant, coffee.  Did a load of wash.  I want to return to see if the pontoon boat is working at Las Brisas/Chalk Sound.  First we stop at Dive Provo so Richard can get his dive log book stamped.  I also buy him a DP hat.  Cost $24.95  Then a stop at Caribbean Outpost.  Eureka-a TCI bead for my Pandora bracelet!  A fish ID card, some post cards and a T shirt of Provo's beaches that Richard liked.  Cost $88.00

Lots of T shirts in all sizes

Las Brisas/Chalk Sound.  Boat just sitting by the restaurant.  Another family there so we started talking.  I knew the boat was waiting on a part but am told that the part is in but waiting for clearance in Customs!  There will be no pontoon boat ride today.  Sad.  If I was in better shape could kayak but my shoulders just aren't up to it.  Drive around the area checking out the big, obviously pricey homes.  Pull into areas off the road for pictures and views.  So lovely.  Best view near the Silly Creek Estates.

It really is turquoise!

I want to check out a beach I read about that is frequented by kite boarders.  Long Bay beach is not too far from OCW area.  Turn down the road where the Shore Club sign is.  Given you need wind for kiteboarding I'm surprised that the water here is calmer than Grace Bay.  Some kiteboarders but not a lot.  Stayed here about an hour.  Had a nice swim.

Interesting signs!

Getting ready to give it a try

Drone attack-LOL!!

Parked cars for Long Bay beach

Determined to find Leeward beach.  Directions in hand.  Find Pelican beach.  Park.  Few people here.  Current too strong for a good swim so we don't stay long.  Just walk around taking in the view.

Back to our pool for the very last time.  Here until 5:00 pm-several hours.

Dinner-Magnolia.  Reservation is for 6:30 pm for a table by the railing for sunset.  We get the very last table on the left.  Not a good sunset.  Not like Infiniti, Bay Bistro.  Drinks-of course Magnoliatini which is Absolute vodka, amaretto, peach schnapps with orange juice and a dash of bitters.  Good.  Richard-Turk's Head amber.  We split the organic mixed greens salad with tomatoes and a pear vinaigrette.  Nice.  I order the grilled shrimp in a Caribbean curry sauce with sautéed snow peas, jasmine rice, and homemade plantain chips.  It was good, but nothing special.  About 6 good size shrimp but I'm not digging the sauce.  Richard orders their signature dish and I should have too.  Sesame crusted rare seared tuna with a soy ginger sauce, jasmine rice, and sautéed snow peas.  He said it was as good as the tuna he had at Coco Bistro.  Different preparation but both delicious.  Dessert-known for the banofee.  It was way too sweet and I couldn't eat all of that sweet crust.  It was bananas and toffee sauce on a graham cracker crust finished off with coffee whipped cream.  Probably a million calories!  10% service charge added to the bill.  Cost without extra tip $122.00  It was very crowded here-popular.  I guess you just need to know what to order at these restaurants.  I've had some great WOW dinners, some good/average/ok and then that one dinner that was something I want to forget.  For the most part we've been happy with our food choices.
